Shot in Kaua'i, Caught Inside grapples with the legacy of travel and surf photography, especially as it has been mutated in (and resists) the digital era. Though bending, remixing, and glitching both the technology of observation and location, along with the genres' conventions, it lingers in the uncomfortable questions of what we actually learn—and what we can ever hope to know of the place we visit—from traveling.
